Aston Villa: Ty Bracey reacts as news emerges on ‘Outstanding’ Leon Bailey at Villa Park
Leon Bailey deserves his contract extension and an increased salary after the news emerged at Aston Villa, according to Ty Bracey.
Villa confirmed on Twitter on 12 February that the Jamaican international had signed a new deal to extend his stay at Villa Park following an excellent start to the Premier League season under Unai Emery’s management.
Reports from Fabrizio Romano on 5 February suggested that the 26-year-old will also receive a salary increase on top of his longer contract to reflect his role in the squad, having become one of the Villans’ most important players throughout the campaign.
Bracey believes the winger has been an “outstanding performer” this season as he predicted other clubs to be eyeing a move for him in the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s definitely warranted. He’s been an outstanding performer this year and really thrived under Unai Emery.
“I’m really happy for him, he really deserves it. He’s doing well and he’s a great attacking threat, especially at home.

“I’m glad we’ve been able to secure a contract extension there and give him a bit more money as there’s going to be some eyes on him in the summer.
“It’s a perfect time for us to get that deal over the line.”
Leon Bailey has improved massively at Aston Villa
There had been question marks around Bailey before this season, but he’s been one of Villa’s best players throughout the campaign.
The Jamaican has worked his way into the starting lineup with his performances after starting the first couple of months of the season on the bench.
But he now appears to be one of the first names on the teamsheet under Emery and his new deal should give him plenty of confidence moving forward at Villa Park.
