Aston Villa team news prediction made for clash v Fulham at Craven Cottage

Jacob Ramsey could be in line to start for Aston Villa against Fulham after impressing in the defeat to Manchester United, according to Ty Bracey.

Unai Emery has a couple of decisions to make after Boubacar Kamara has been ruled out for the rest of the season and Diego Carlos will miss up to four weeks through injury.

The Villa boss will be looking for his side to respond following their 2-1 defeat to the Red Devils on 11 February as they look to get their campaign back on track at Craven Cottage on Saturday (17 February).

Bracey has admitted he would love to see Lucas Digne named in the starting lineup against the Cottagers after he’s been out for the past few weeks.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Jacob Ramsey played great against Man United, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him start.

“I don’t know who’s going to fill that Kamara position, whether it be John McGinn or Tim Iroegbunam in there.

“Maybe there could be a couple of changes at the absolute most, but it all depends on whether McGinn drops into that position or not.

“But I don’t expect to see many changes other than for Diego Carlos and Kamara.

Lucas Digne could challenge Alex Moreno for Aston Villa starting spot

Asked about whether Digne could return to the starting lineup, Bracey said: “You don’t know who is guaranteed to start at left-back, whether it be Moreno or Digne now he’s back.

“But before his injury, Digne was doing well, he’s had a good season so far, so I would love to see him back in the starting lineup.”

Aston Villa options have been depleted

It’s been a tough few weeks for Villa in terms of results and on the injury front after several first-team players have been sidelined.

With Carlos and Ezri Konsa set to miss the next few weeks, there’s a good chance Pau Torres could be in line to make his return to the starting lineup against Fulham.

Emery will also have to decide on how he wants to line up in midfield as the Villans are now down to the bare bones after Kamara’s injury and the loan departure of Leander Dendoncker to Napoli in the January transfer window.
