Aston Villa: Ty Bracey reacts to what Unai Emery said as ‘tough’ admission shared
Aston Villa have to take it one game at a time after Unai Emery has played down their expectations this season, according to Ty Bracey.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Fulham on Saturday (17 February, via Jacob Tanswell), the Villa boss said his side have never been contenders in the Premier League as there are seven teams who are better than them this season.
It comes after the Villans were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United on 11 February, with Scott McTominay scoring a late winner to strike a blow to the Champions League hopes at Villa Park.
Bracey admitted that the defeat to the Red Devils was a “tough one to swallow”, but he believes the players will bounce back stronger following the result.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Personally, I think we deserved the win, but that’s the way football goes.
“There are times when you deserve to win and others when you don’t deserve to lose and you get three points. It’s swings and roundabouts and balances itself out throughout the season.
“It was a tough one to swallow, but we’ll come back better.

“Emery has come out today and said there are seven teams better than us in the league, but every game is a cup final.
“We just have to keep pushing, keep trying and take it each game at a time, and see where we are at the end of the season.”
Aston Villa have a chance to respond against Fulham
It has been a tricky spell for Villa lately after winning just one of their past six games, having previously gone on such a strong run in the Premier League.
Their previously excellent home form has deserted them slightly over the past few weeks, so perhaps a match away from Villa Park could be just what they need.
The players will be keen to get back to winning ways when they face Fulham at Craven Cottage as a victory will keep them on the heels of the sides currently in the Champions League places.
