Ty Bracey reacts as three players ruled out for Aston Villa clash v Sheff United
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Ty Bracey believes it’s a “big loss” for Aston Villa after Pau Torres, Lucas Digne and Nicolo Zaniolo have all been ruled out for the game against Sheffield United on Saturday (3 February).
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday (2 February, via BirminghamLive), Unai Emery revealed that attacking midfielder Zaniolo picked up an injury in training on Friday, but he hoped it wouldn’t be a “big problem”.
Although the Villa boss is hoping centre-back Torres will be back in training next week, there was no update provided on a potential return for left-back Digne ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane.
Bracey believes the trio will all be a “huge miss” for the Villans as they look to get back to winning ways in their bid to secure a Champions League place this season.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s a big loss. They are three players I think we need.
“Zaniolo can make an impact when he comes off the bench.

“Lucas Digne has been in good form when he’s been playing and Pau Torres, obviously he is a really important part of the puzzle.
“They are all a huge miss. But hopefully, Rogers can fill in for Zaniolo.”
Morgan Rogers could fill in for Nicolo Zaniolo
He has only just arrived from Middlesbrough as a late arrival in the transfer window so you might have expected Emery not to utilise Rogers straight away.
However, it is now looking a little like a needs-must situation for the Villa boss and Rogers could be thrown straight into the matchday squad, probably as a bench option.
Villa needed a late leveller from Zaniolo to claim a point in the reverse fixture of this clash and Emery will be hoping they can perform much better against the relegation candidates at Bramall Lane.
