
Middlesbrough informed of Morgan Rogers transfer decision on Aston Villa as £10m+ twist emerges
Middlesbrough have been informed that Morgan Rogers wants to join Aston Villa, according to Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse.
The journalist reported via his X account on Thursday (25 January) that Boro are anticipating a third bid for the player.
Collomosse added that the forward, who has scored seven goals in all competitions this season, is valued at a minimum of £10million.
Bright future
Rogers certainly has a bright future ahead of him, particularly if he makes a switch to Villa Park this month. The 21-year-old boasts nine assists along with his goals tally from his 33 appearances for Boro, all of which have come this season.
Villa have perhaps been eyeing the youngster for some time, but Emery certainly got a close-up of the attacker when the two clubs met in the FA Cup earlier this month.
The Premier League side narrowly came out on top in the third round tie, with Rogers playing the entire 90 minutes in the 1-0 defeat.
He was then on the receiving end of another loss against Premier League opposition, with Chelsea smashing Boro 6-1 in their EFL Cup semi-final second leg clash on Tuesday (23 January).
But the young striker proved he can compete against such opposition as he scored a late consolation goal at Stamford Bridge.
Star man Ollie Watkins currently occupies the number one spot in the final third at Villa Park, with Rogers undoubtedly eyed as a future first-team star.
His arrival could, however, cause a revamp going forward, with fellow striker Jhon Duran potentially leaving the Midlands club this month.

The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that Villa could listen to offers for Duran if they manage to land Rogers, with both Chelsea and West Ham interested in the former.
