Ex-Aston Villa Scout wowed by Kosta Nedeljkovic transfer after what he’s seen in Serbia
Villa News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over 10 years as a scout at Aston Villa and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and eight years scouting at Everton…
Bryan King believes incoming Aston Villa player Kosta Nedeljkovic is an exciting signature for manager Unai Emery.
The verdict comes after Fabrizio Romano reported on X on Wednesday (17 January) that the 18-year-old will soon undergo a medical at Villa Park.
The journalist added that the teenage Crvena Zvezda right-back will return to the Serbian outfit until the end of the season.

Speaking to Villa News, King said: “I know Serbian players and I know that area quite well. Certainly a lot of potential. Potentially it’s a way of getting around FFP restrictions, but I think it’s more about a football club that is like a lot of football clubs, which are looking at young foreign talent.
“But that seems a lot of money to me, and it will probably be one of those deals where there will be an initial fee and add-ons etc.
“But there is good potential. Serbia is a good place to learn your trade, it’s a tough league, and Red Star are not a bad side.”

It is certainly an exciting signing, with Aston Villa manager Emery having already brought a handful of talented players to the Midlands club.
And if the likes of Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby are anything to go by, then the Villa Park faithful will be licking their lips.
Nedeljkovic is, of course, in the very early stages of his career, and so may not burst onto the scene in England for quite some time.
In other Aston Villa news, one Villa man delivered a timely 86% cameo against Everton recently, but he still has room to improve.
