Leeds United to demand Aston Villa pay ‘astronomical’ fee to sign Crysencio Summerville in January

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

Leeds United would ask Aston Villa to pay an “astronomical” fee to sign Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window, according to Ty Bracey.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted on 25 December that Villa are one of several clubs that are currently tracking the 22-year-old.

But he revealed that the Elland Road club have no intention of selling the Dutch winger during this window after he’s scored 12 goals and laid on six assists in 23 Championship appearances this season.

Bracey believes Summerville would be a “great addition” to the Villans’ squad, but that Leeds will do all they can to keep hold of him as they look to earn promotion back to the Premier League this year.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He’s doing very well in the Championship. He’ll obviously be wanting to get Leeds back into the Premier League, so he may want to continue with that for the rest of the season.

“But I think Leeds have issued a big fat not-for-sale sign on him, which is understandable. They are fourth in the Championship, so I think it’s integral for them to keep hold of him.

“I think they really need him, but I think it would be a good bit of business and a great addition for Villa. But I know Leeds are definitely going to play hardball on that.

“No club wants to lose players in January, especially a team on the charge for promotion in the Championship. They’re not going to finish above Leicester, but that second spot is well up for grabs.

“I think they’ll probably hold on to him unless an astronomical fee comes in.”
