Aston Villa told to sign Emi Martinez friend Paulo Dybala in January amid £10.7m Roma development
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Aston Villa should make a move to sign forward Paulo Dybala from Roma in the January transfer window, according to Ty Bracey.
The Daily Star reported on its website on 1 January that the Argentinian international is available for clubs outside of Italy to sign for just €13million (£10.7million) this month due to a release clause in his contract.
It added that the 30-year-old, who has registered four goals and six assists in 12 Serie A appearances this season, would be a “shrewd signing” for Villa as they look to challenge for a Champions League place under Unai Emery this year.

Bracey believes Dybala would be a “great addition” for the Villans as the fee he’s available for during this window isn’t very high for a player of his calibre.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He’s a friend of the Emi Martinez family and has played at the highest level. If we’re going to be playing Champions League football next year, we need that calibre of player.
“He plays more in a number 10 role than a centre-forward now but obviously can play as a striker or on the right side if needed.

“There’s no doubt he could play on the left as well if we needed that, but I think he’d be a great addition.
“The wages might be a little bit high, but the fee is low, €13million (£10.7million) is not a huge amount of money for a player of that calibre. Sign him up.”
