Leon Bailey 100 per cent deserves a new contract at Aston Villa after a development has emerged, according to Ty Bracey.

The Daily Mail reported on its website on Thursday (4 January) that Villa are set to open talks with the Jamaican international about signing a new deal on the back of his form this season.

It added that the Villans are preparing to offer the 26-year-old winger terms that could see him become one of the highest earners at Villa Park.

Bracey believes the news on Bailey is “amazing” and that he has “improved massively” under Unai Emery after scoring nine goals and laying on eight assists in 26 appearances so far during this campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He 100 per cent deserves it. He’s having a great season.

“He shows up at Villa Park and he loves doing the fingers on the head celebration in front of the Holte End. I think it’s thoroughly deserved.

“He’s shown up this season and I couldn’t be happier for him, so it’s definitely warranted. I think it’s amazing news.

“He’s improved massively under Emery. I still think we’re yet to see the best of Diaby, but 100 per cent Bailey has improved under Emery.

“Obviously, he was a Dean Smith signing, but everyone has excelled under Emery pretty much. I think he will continue to be great for the remainder of the season.”
