Ty Bracey thrilled Aston Villa not involved in Premier League ‘naughtiness’ amid Everton development

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

Ty Bracey is thrilled that Aston Villa haven’t been involved in the Premier League “naughtiness” after developments emerged at Everton.

The Toffees were handed an immediate 10-point deduction on Friday (17 November) after it was found to be guilty of breaching the league’s spending rules [BBC Sport].

Villa took steps to ensure they didn’t commit any potential breaches over the summer when they sold academy products Cameron Archer, Aaron Ramsey and Jaden Philogene to ease any financial fair play (FFP) issues.

Bracey is “over the moon” that the Villans haven’t been involved in any rule-breaking as he believes it’s a risk that simply isn’t worth the Villa Park chiefs taking.

When asked if it was a smart move to let younger players go to avoid any FFP issues, speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Yeah, of course. I think a lot of that was part of the reasoning.

“I think it was important that we balanced the books out and complied with the rules regardless of what other clubs are doing.

“If other clubs are breaching the rules, it’s just important that we stick to them and don’t risk those types of things happening to us, so I’m over the moon that we’re playing by the rules.

“There is a lot of naughtiness going on at the minute, so it’s nice that we’re not involved.”
