Aston Villa: Ty Bracey reacts to Tyrone Mings development as ‘massive’ admission shared

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

It’s really important that the Aston Villa fans and the club help support Tyrone Mings as he continues his rehab, according to Ty Bracey.

The England international posted a video on his Twitter account on Tuesday (21 November), where he provided an insight into his recovery from the second anterior cruciate ligament injury of his career.

The 30-year-old centre-back, who suffered the season-ending injury in the opening-day defeat at Newcastle United in August, thanked the Villa supporters for the well-wishes he has received over the past few months.

Bracey believes the injury will have dealt a “massive” confidence blow to Mings, but he is adamant that he remains a player the Villans need to keep hold of because of his impact on and off the pitch.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It’s really important to support him and for us to get some depth back in places as well. It’s not just him, it’s Buendia and Ramsey as well. They are people we need to get back on board, we need that depth in these positions.

“It’s just one of those things where we have to get behind him, it will have been a massive knock to his confidence. To not play for that long, it might end up taking a bit of time for him to find his feet again when he is back.

“It’s important that the fans and the club get behind him. He’s very important on that pitch vocally, so it’s key that we keep hold of him because of what he provides for Villa on and off the pitch.”
