Ty Bracey fumes at ‘frustrated’ Nicolo Zaniolo in new Aston Villa verdict
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Nicolo Zaniolo can be a success at Aston Villa if he “stops the strops” after his frustrations have been clear for everyone to see this season, according to Ty Bracey.
The Italian international has so far failed to register a single goal or assist in his opening 13 appearances for Villa since arriving on loan from Galatasaray over the summer.
The 24-year-old has, however, been selected in the starting lineup by Unai Emery on eight occasions this season, but he was replaced at half-time in the 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Sunday (5 November).

Bracey believes it is “really important” that the attacking midfielder gets his first goal under his belt for the Villans as he looks to secure a permanent move to Birmingham.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I think we were worse when he went off. He gets very frustrated when things don’t go his way and I like that. He needs to stop the strops to the ref.
“If the ref said no foul and the game is playing on, you can’t be shouting at the ref, you need to get on with it and get back. Emi Buendia used to do it and he seemed in pre-season to have cut that out of his game. You can strop about it as much as you want, but that’s not going to change the outcome.

“He just needs to get that first goal. I think it’s really important that he gets that first goal. The goals and assist contributions aren’t necessarily a reflection of how he’s been for the team and I think it’s unfair to judge him based on that.
“It’s very easy to judge him on that when you’re an attacking player, but I think he can handle the pace of the Premier League. If he gets that first goal, I think we’ll be laughing.”
In other Aston Villa news, a broadcaster believes the club have made a “statement of intent” after an Emery development has emerged.
