Aston Villa may look to recall striker Louie Barry who’s on loan at Stockport County ahead of the January window, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he will not return to training for another three or three and a half months due to a hamstring injury sustained against Crewe on 24 October.
The 20-year-old is not expected to return to full fitness until January at the earliest and Villa may fancy their facilities over Stockport’s.
Speaking about his setback, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“The ideal timeline to return to training is around three to three and a half months and some time with full team training to improve match fitness.
“It’s certainly possible that Villa could call him back to use their facilities.
“Clubs tend to prefer their facilities in order to get players back to the level they want them at.“
It does make sense for Villa to cater to him as they’ve got a far better system than Stockport’s and can deal with the issue better.
Stockport have a relatively small setup and the priority will be on players who can contribute right away rather than ones who are going to be out for months.
With Barry, they know he’s a top player who’s bagged nine goals this season but whether or not he’ll be at the club beyond January is anyone’s guess.
Villa may feel he can be suited to a Championship or League One level so that could also be the thinking behind bringing him back.
