NSWE sign off on Aston Villa mistake as Nicolo Zaniolo stinks v Luton

Aston Villa made it 12 home Premier League wins in a row at Villa Park on Sunday 29 October with a simple 3-1 victory over Luton Town.

Moussa Diaby was the star of the show, with his performances making him one of the signings of the summer throughout the entire competition already.

NSWE got that one spot on, but they have also signed off on what looks like a mistake, and it could be about to become even more costly for them.

Nicolo Zaniolo is not only under the spotlight for his betting activities back in Italy at the moment, but his performances since arriving have not been good enough.

Signing on loan from Galatasaray after injuries hit Unai Emery’s team earlier in the season, he has played eight times in the Premier League, failing to deliver a single-goal involvement.

The 45 minutes he played against Luton were uninspiring, to say the least, and he was dragged off for Leon Bailey at half-time, which told the entire story.

A booking in the 28th minute was as exciting as it got for the attacker, who touched the ball 28 times but only completed six total passes in the end [Sofascore].

Playing on the left-hand side, creativity is key and Zaniolo had none of that, attempting two crosses which both failed, as well as completing 0% of his attempted dribbles.

Losing possession eight times in 45 minutes told the full story, with the Italian only winning three of his 11 duels both on the ground and in the air.

Leon Bailey came on and showed him how it was done in the end, picking up an assist as well as creating a big chance with his speed a real danger [Sofascore].

Based on his current form and the potential for a long-term ban on top of that, this could be one of the very few mistakes that NSWE have made in recent years at Villa Park.
