Aston Villa v Chelsea verdict revealed after damning stat shared
We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Aston Villa will need to bring their “A-game” to Stamford Bridge to face a “struggling” Chelsea side, according to Ty Bracey.
Unai Emery will be eager to bounce back after their shock 3-2 defeat to Legia Warszawa in the Europa Conference League on Thursday (21 September), and a big away day against Mauricio Pochettino’s men is the perfect opportunity to regain some confidence.
Things have been tough in West London. Vasts amounts of money have been spent on a squad that has consistently played below-average football. After the turmoil of Graham Potter and interim boss Frank Lampard’s tenures last season, many tipped their new boss for a course correction.

However, just one win and surprise losses to West Ham and Nottingham Forest have put the spotlight back on the Blues for all the wrong reasons. Bracey points to a damning statistic that will give Villa fans hope of a victory on Sunday but insists Emery’s men must remain sharp.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Emery studies every opponent really well. He puts a lot of time into knowing the opposition team and what flaws they have in their plans.
“Chelsea haven’t won a [Premier League] game against a team in the top half of the table for 517 days which is nearly two years. Obviously, they’ll be keen to break that.

“They aren’t doing great at the moment. Pochettino is struggling to find the right team and system, but they have to start producing soon, you can’t be spending all that money to be playing how they’re playing.
“Let’s hope we show them up because we’re more than capable. They don’t even look like they can score! We need to be tight and bring out A-game.”
In other Aston Villa news, a Sky Sports pundit has claimed it’s a “no-brainer” what the Women’s team have done behind the scenes.
