Jaden Philogene exit speculation causes uproar with Aston Villa in talks over multi-million deal
We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park…
Alan Hutton would rather Aston Villa send Jaden Philogene out on loan rather than sell him and include a buy-back clause in a deal.
HullLive reported on 20 August that Hull City are in talks to sign the 21-year-old attacker and a deal could be struck before the end of this week.
Hull’s owner Acun Ilicali is reported to be personally involved in the ambitious move with The Athletic’s Gregg Evans adding on 21 August that Villa want £5million for the youngster.

Evans also said that Hull have made a permanent bid for Philogene but Aston Villa will only consider a deal if an acceptable fee is offered, as well as a buy-back clause.
Hutton doesn’t want anything like that to be agreed as he believes Philogene could have a role to play at Villa Park within the next 12 months.
Speaking to Villa News about the story on Philogene, Hutton said: “I don’t understand unless the player is forcing the issue to leave permanently.

“He’s had a really good pre-season so why not send him out on loan if they don’t see him being involved at this moment in time? He could possibly come back in January or whatever to be a part of it.
“He’s done really well so why sell someone for £15million-£20million and have a £30million buy-back clause, why would you do that in a year’s time?
“Send him out on loan, play games and then re-assess it.
“I understand about covering themselves but for the sake of repaying double the money in a year’s time, I don’t get it.”
