‘Sky-high’ fee on the cards for Aaron Ramsey at Aston Villa after transfer agreed
We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park…
Alan Hutton has praised Aston Villa for managing to agree a buy-back clause in Aaron Ramseys’ £14million transfer to Burnley.
Sky Sports reported via their live transfer blog earlier this week (15 August, 11:01am) that Burnley have agreed a deal to sign the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.
It is understood that the deal also includes potential add-ons, as well as a buy-back clause that enables Villa to re-sign their academy product in the future.

Hutton is happy to see that the door hasn’t completely closed on Ramsey at Villa Park and he has tipped the youngster to continue his development at Turf Moor with the Clarets.
“They’re protecting themselves,” Hutton told Villa News.
“They know he’s a very talented football player and I think it’s smart business.
“£14million is a lot of money and he can go to a team under Vincent Kompany and really flourish. He’ll get the game time he needs to make that impact. It makes sense.
“Players have done this early on in their career and gone on to be sky-high. Some of the fees we’re talking about are quite incredible but they’re outstanding footballers.

“It’s good business from Aston Villa to allow and go a player to develop but also have that option to bring him back.”
Ramsey spent last season on loan at both Norwich and Middlesbrough in the Championship.
In other Aston Villa news, a pundit has shared what John McGinn told him about “really bad” news at Villa Park.
