Aston Villa hope to complete Nicolo Zaniolo transfer agreement this week – Fabrizio Romano
Aston Villa are hoping to complete the deal to sign Galatasaray midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo this week, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist tweeted on 14 August that the 24-year-old is “insisting” that he be allowed to make the move to Villa Park this summer.
Romano reported on 11 August that the Villans had offered a £2.6million loan fee that included the opportunity to sign the Italy international for £23.3million.
Positive
It’s positive news for Villa to hear that Zaniolo is keen to make the move to Villa Park after they submitted a bid to sign him on loan last week, with club director Monchi, who signed him for Roma five years ago, heading up the negotiations.
Given that the offer has been on the table for a couple of days, the Villans need to know whether it’s going to be accepted so they can look to complete the deal or move on to other targets.
They have been desperate to get a new attacking midfielder in following the injury to Emi Buendia, who faces up to eight months out with a knee injury.

The 6’3″ Italian could be the perfect man to fill that gap after he has scored five goals in 12 matches since making the move to Galatasaray from Roma in February of this year.
If they can get the deal over the line, he will be another big-name signing through the door this summer at Villa after already bringing in Youri Tielemans, Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby.
In other Aston Villa news, the club could be selling one of its young talents to help with potential FFP issues.
