Aston Villa ready another bid to sign Moussa Diaby as green light given by Bayer Leverkusen star
Negotiations are continuing between Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen for Moussa Diaby, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Aston Villa had an original bid of £30million plus add-ons turned down for the French star, but the Villans are not intending to give up on their pursuit.
Italian journalist Romano reported via Twitter (14 July) that Villa are planning to make another bid in the coming days as talks between the two clubs remain on.
“Aston Villa plan to bid again for Moussa Diaby in the next days. Negotiations are still ongoing with Bayer Leverkusen,” Romano wrote.
“Opening €35m plus add-ons bid turned down by Leverkusen but talks on.
“Diaby, open to Premier League football as Villa got the green light from player side.”
Serious
Unai Emery and Aston Villa are not messing around in this transfer window. After a brilliant season in which the club finished seventh and qualified for European football, the board are clearly keen to back their manager.
They have already completed a massive signing in the form of Pau Torres, who has reunited with Emery following their time together at Villarreal and are clearly not giving up on bringing Diaby to the West Midlands.

It would represent another fantastic signing if they could get the deal across the line as they look to build a squad that can compete in both the Premier League and UEFA Europa Conference League.
The winger scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season as well as scoring three times in the Europa League.
He would be a brilliant addition to Emery’s squad and with transfer activity like this, Villa are clearly looking to go one better than last season and crack the Premier League’s ‘big six’.
