Aston Villa take on Newcastle United to seal Matteo Guendouzi transfer
Aston Villa are in the race to sign Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi this summer, according to Telefoot.
The online outlet has reported that the Villans will take on rival interest from Juventus, Inter Milan and Newcastle United to get a deal over the line.
It comes after it was already confirmed that Youri Tielemans has agreed to sign for the club after his contract expired at Leicester City.

Writing on their official Twitter account, Telefoot shared the latest transfer news ahead of the window officially opening in the next few days.
“According to our information, Juventus, Inter Milan, Aston Villa and Newcastle are interested in Matteo Guendouzi, under contract with OM until 2025.”

This would appear to be a strange move to make from Unai Emery, but everyone will know not to question his methods after the wonders he worked.
Arriving with the club fighting relegation, the Villans finished the same season with European qualification in the Conference League next season.
Squad depth will be critical at Villa Park, although with the signing of Tielemans, another midfielder appears to be unlikely at this stage, especially one that could cost as much as Guendouzi.
Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey, Douglas Luiz and Leander Dendoncker are all currently at the club, so with another option already confirmed, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Other areas may now become priorities though with the final third one of those given the struggles of those around Ollie Watkins such as Bertrand Traore.
With the transfer window only days away, it appears as though Aston Villa are going to be big players.
