£56m transfer reveal emerges about Jacob Ramsey at Aston Villa
Aston Villa have plenty of exciting young players among their ranks, but perhaps none are on the same level as Jacob Ramsey.
A product of the club’s youth academy, he has rapidly risen onto the first-team scene in recent times and is already one of the club’s top performers at the age of just 22.
The youngster has superb role models in his own position that he can look up to, such as John McGinn and Douglas Luiz, but there were moments in the most recent campaign where the more experienced duo turned to Ramsey for inspiration.

He often took the game by the scruff of the neck when Villa needed a leader, with such a scenario evident on the final day of the season as the Midlands outfit defeated high-flying Brighton 2-1 to secure European football.
Unai Emery’s men could not have done it without Ramsey, who clinched two assists on the day, as well as winning five out of his eight duels and finishing with a passing accuracy of 82 per cent, with those feats earning him a Man of the Match 7.7 rating on SofaScore.
His displays this season have not gone unnoticed, with the midfielder now included in the CIES Football Observatory’s list of the top 100 estimated transfer values.

The Aston Villa star has been handed a value of €65.4million (£56.3million), placing him ahead of fellow Premier League icons Harry Kane (€61.4million) and Mohamed Salah (€61.2million) among others.
Emery definitely won’t have any plans to sell the young midfielder anytime soon, but the player could go for a huge fee if he does have ambitions to play elsewhere in the future.
In other Aston Villa news, the club would not be in Europe next season without one player who sits top of one key statistics area.
