Jack Grealish 2.0 emerges at Aston Villa as Jacob Ramsey transfer prediction shared

We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park

Aston Villa have a new Jack Grealish on their hands in Jacob Ramsey as he continues to shine in the first team, according to Alan Hutton.

Ramsey, 21, has exploded at Villa Park this season, scoring his sixth goal of the season – and his second in as many games – in the 1-1 draw at Liverpool at the weekend.

As he’s young, English and in brilliant form in the Premier League, it’ll no doubt be long before the Brummy-born ace is linked with a move to a top club.

Hutton doesn’t believe anything will happen this summer regarding Ramsey but he does believe that Grealish 2.0 will end up being a wanted man in the future.

When asked if he thinks there’s any worry of Ramsey being wanted elsewhere in the summer, Hutton told Villa News: “I don’t think so. Not quite yet.

They’re slightly different players but Ramsey has taken on that mantle from Jack Grealish. He’s young and come through the academy to be a star of the first team.

Within that, I still think he’s got a lot of time on his hands.

He’ll get better and keep on developing under Unai Emery. The way Emery sets his team out, it’ll help Ramsey’s development.

Will there come a time [for him to leave] if he continues on this path he’s on? Probably. You’d have to be daft to say it won’t.

But the most important thing is that he keeps developing, he keeps his feet on the ground and keeps moving forward.”

As well as his six goals this season, Ramsey has also provided five assists in his 34 Premier League appearances.

He’s one of the first names on the teamsheet for Emery, playing mainly in a wide attacking role.

In other Aston Villa news, the club has been told to sign a new striker amid Ollie Watkins’ ongoing situation at Villa Park.
