Bayern Munich staff member jets into UK on Aston Villa transfer mission as Jacob Ramsey claim made by BBC pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park…
Ollie Watkins might not have been the only player a Bayern Munich scout watched when Aston Villa beat Fulham last month, according to Alan Hutton.
The Mirror reported on 29 April that Bayern had a recruitment expert stationed at Villa Park for the Villans’ 1-0 win over Fulham last Tuesday (25 April).
It was reported that Bayern had their eyes on Watkins as they look to sign a striker this summer but Villa News has asked Hutton if there’s anyone else in Unai Emery’s squad who could be of interest for the German giants.

The former right-back named Jacob Ramsey as a player who could have possibly caught the eye but their transfer mission in the West Midlands is likely to be more focused than a generic visit.
“We’re talking about Bayern Munich here – they’re one of the biggest teams out there,” Hutton told Villa News.
“I think when they’re looking for a specific player that’s there to look for, it’s not a case of getting X, Y and Z as well.
“Unless somebody was really outstanding like a Jacob Ramsey, someone who’s young and got potential, somebody who could bring something different.
“These scouts are watching everybody but if they’re there for a specific reason, I think that’s their main objective.”

Fabrizio Romano hasn’t ruled out interest from Bayern but in an update on 2 May, the Italian journalist did report that Bayern are not actively working on a deal to sign Watkins because they have other options on their list of striker targets.
In other Aston Villa news, the Villans have been backed to complete one major deal in the summer after an update from Fabrizio Romano.
