Aston Villa predicted XI v West Ham United by BBC pundit as one change to be made

We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park

Alan Hutton predicts Unai Emery to make just one change to the Aston Villa starting line-up when his side take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Boubacar Kamara has been ruled out of the trip to the capital on 12 March and he could miss the next few weeks of action due to an ankle injury he sustained in the win over Crystal Palace last week [Mirror].

Hutton has told Villa News that he believes Leon Bailey should come in for Kamara, with John McGinn moving into the centre of the midfield in his place.

Due to the fact Villa now have two wins on the bounce, Hutton wouldn’t make any other changes.

“If everybody’s fit, I don’t see why Unai Emery would need to [make changes],” Hutton told Villa News.

“They’re in good form at this moment in time after conceding so many goals – it was 11 goals conceded in three games before these back-to-back wins.

Things are going well, they’re looking up and the team’s playing very well.

You can see what they’re trying to do, even though it was frustrating me in previous games where they were playing it out from the back.

You could see in the goal against Palace how it started with Emi Martinez. I know it was an own goal but still, you can see what the manager’s trying to do.

Unless there are injuries, I don’t see any reason to change things.”

Villa face West Ham this weekend with David Moyes’ side in serious trouble at the bottom end of the Premier League table.

Although the Hammers are currently 16th in the standings, they’re only two points clear of 20th and have just two wins in their last 13 league outings.

In other Aston Villa news, the club has been tipped to sign a new striker to aid their bid to return to European football.
