View: Aston Villa must capitalise on Phillippe Coutinho transfer interest

Aston Villa must capitalise on the transfer interest being shown in midfielder Phillippe Coutinho after a report dropped on 30 November 2022 linking him with a move to Flamengo.

The Brazilian has failed to reach the heights and hype he brought with him to Villa Park, since joining the club on a full-time basis this summer.

Now, the Villans must take advantage of the interest shown by Brazilian outfit Flamengo and get what they can for the ageing maestro.

“One of the names that are in the sights of Fla is the attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho, from Aston Villa,” as quoted by colunadofla.com.

“At the age of 30, Philippe Coutinho entered Flamengo’s radar after the Rubro-Negro won the Libertadores and stamped a spot in the Club World Cup.

“Now, Mais Querido is studying the viability of the business. Mengo’s main wish is to have the Brazilian on loan, but the English team only accepts a definitive transaction. This is even the biggest obstacle for Fla to start a conversation with Aston Villa.”

Get it done.

Villa must get this exit over and done with, before the Brazilian’s price completely plummets due to his lack of game time at the club.

The feeling around the club with fans is pretty mutual on Coutinho, he isn’t adding that Brazilian flair and magic that had been promised with his arrival.

At times he’s shown glimpses but he has gone missing far too many times in games to consider him a real threat and weapon for the Villans.

Unai Emery will obviously assess what is best for the future of the midfielder but it’s likely he’ll look to younger options in the market to catapult his team to better days.

It’s a shame as Coutinho could have been a cult hero at the club but it seems like his luck has run out and he’s no longer capable of stringing a good run of performances together.

The apparent interest from Flamengo provides everyone involved here a solid chance to get what they want but Villa must ack quickly if they what any form of a cash influx from the sale.
