Leon Bailey reveals he could have left Aston Villa for a ‘bigger’ club
Leon Bailey has revealed that he could have left Aston Villa for a “bigger” club in a tell-all YouTube podcast on the channel Let’s Be Honest.
Bailey has been one of the Villans top performers this campaign, scoring four goals in 16 appearances and has earned the trust of new boss Unai Emery.
Nevertheless, Bailey confessed that it hasn’t always been so straightforward during his time at Villa Park, admitting that he had the chance to leave the club.

“You know something, I could have left Aston Villa,” he said.
“Even after that bad season, I could have left for a bigger club but you know what it’s me that said I wanted to stay. I’m going to stay a long time because I want to make a show of them that called me an idiot.
“I’m going to show what I’m really capable of, sometimes there’s unfortunate situations but that’s what built me and built me as a person. I like challenges. This year, I’m doing my thing. Now look.”

Dangerous.
An in-form Bailey is a dangerous weapon to have in your arsenal and Aston Villa must capitalise on the wingers’ recent great form.
It’s not been easy for the Jamaica international to live up to the hype he brought with him from Bayer Leverkusen but he finally seems settled.
He even looks like he’s taken it up a notch since the arrival of Emery, this bodes well for his Aston Villa future and what he may achieve in the coming years.
Hopefully, the Spaniard keeps using him as a regular starter, it seems like Bailey is the type of player who thrives on being given the trust of his manager.
His numbers still aren’t fantastic but with luck, these should gradually get better, the Villans need their attacking outlets to produce more regularly.
It would be surprising to see Bailey leave Villa Park after these comments, he seems intent on making himself a cult hero at the club.
