Aston Villa planning warm weather training camp in Dubai – report

Aston Villa are planning a warm-weather training camp during their domestic break, according to the Express and Star.

Unai Emery will take his squad to Dubai, where they will prepare for their next competitive Premier League fixture against Liverpool on 26 December 2022.

The Spaniard will use the opportunity to work closely with his first-team squad whilst also facing fellow Premier League club Chelsea in a friendly match on 12 December 2022.

“The club have also announced they will face Chelsea on the trip on December 11 (ko 2.10pm GMT) at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, with both teams competing for the inaugural CBF-Al Wahda Challenge Cup,” as quoted by the Express and Star.

The Villans will also face Cardiff City on November 30 2022, as well as a matchup against Emery’s former side Villarreal on 15 December 2022.

January.

It’s going to be interesting to see what master plan Emery has in store for the January transfer window, will he be able to attract some of football’s brightest talents?

He’s potentially got that kind of pulling power in his arsenal and he will be backed by the Villa hierarchy to the fullest when it comes to big-money buys.

This all bodes well for his first transfer window in charge at the club and fans will likely get a better picture of what the Spaniard is trying to achieve at Villa Park after this.

A new forward must be the priority on his list at the moment, Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings are unfortunately not up to the task of carrying goals, week in, week out for the team.

Some defensive reinforcements also wouldn’t go amiss, as it’s unclear yet whether Emery will continue to use Tyrone Mings as his go-to centre-back.
