View: Aston Villa can’t afford to lose another gem after Chelsea interest in Triston Rowe
Chelsea scouts have been spotted monitoring Triston Rowe as the Blues eye up a move for the Aston Villa wonderkid in the future.
Rowe is widely considered one of Aston Villa’s brightest prospects and his dazzling performances in the Villa youth system is catching the eye of Chelsea scouts according to the Evening Standard.
At just 16 years old, Rowe has already made three appearances for Villa’s Under-21s – five years above his development path. It’s clear to see why his progress has alerted rival scouts, but Villa need to fend them off.

The report suggests that Chelsea are eyeing up Rowe as part of a £30million youth development project at Stamford Bridge, but Villa should have their own focus set on progressing youth – especially someone as talented as Rowe.
Villa already allowed one talented youngster to slip through their fingers when Chelsea came calling for Carney Chukwuemeka.
Sure, his £20million transfer fee was a strong offer from the London club, but Villa shouldn’t be turning into a selling club.
The academy coaches are clearly doing a great job of bringing through some extremely talented youngsters, and Villa should be looking to promote the best of them to the first team.

Money has been no issue for Villa since the NSWE takeover, with plenty of financial backing in the transfer windows. Promising stars shouldn’t be shipped off for a reasonable offer – Villa instead should be doing everything possible to keep hold of them and make Villa Park an exciting place for young players to thrive.
Rowe can be the start of that turning point. The club should conclusively put an end to Chelsea’s interest and allow Unai Emery to bring through Rowe when he sees fit.
