Aston Villa players to return to Bodymoor Heath this week
Aston Villa players who are not involved in the FIFA World Cup will return to Bodymoor Heath this week for extra training sessions, according to the Express and Star.
Unai Emery sees the break as the perfect chance to implement his playing style and training methods on his new Aston Villa squad.
Emery confessed that the break will “help” Aston Villa when the Premier League returns to action for them on 26 December 2022.

“The break will help us. We will have training days to improve and create identity and our style,” said Emery as quoted by the Express and Star.
The Villans will also play in two warm-up matches against Cardiff City and Villarreal before Premier League action commences.

Plenty of practice.
The FIFA World Cup has come at the perfect time for Emery and will give him the perfect amount of practice before play resumes in the English top flight.
Emi Martinez, Matty Cash, Jan Bednarek and Leander Dendoncker are the club’s only players away in Qatar, leaving the Spaniard with the majority of his squad to work with.
Emery couldn’t have gotten off to a better start at Villa Park and it’s going to be interesting to see where he can take this squad moving forward.
The Liverpool game on 26 December 2022 is extremely intriguing and will be a good gauge of what level Emery can get his Villa team to play at.
A win against Jurgen Klopp’s side would send alarm bells ringing throughout the Premier League and would do a lot for the Villans confidence.
It’s nice to see the club heading in a positive direction, after months of dreary results and performances, Aston Villa seems to have got their mojo back.
In other Aston Villa news, Unai Emery is a long-term admirer of Nacho Fernandez and wants to bring him to Aston Villa
