Alan Hutton: Danny Ings suits Unai Emery style of play at Aston Villa
We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park.
Alan Hutton believes Unai Emery’s system at Aston Villa will suit Danny Ings’ aggressiveness after the striker put in a man-of-the-match display against Brighton.
The 30-year-old scored twice in what was an impressive all-round performance from the 30-year-old on the south coast.
Hutton feels Ings has thrived when he has been a nuisance and harassed defenders, which is something he could do more under the Spaniard.

“I think the way Emery wants to play really suits him because he can be aggressive and he can go and harass defenders and be that nuisance which he has been for his whole career,” Hutton exclusively told Villa News.
“I think when a new manager comes in and he puts that trust and belief into you that you’re going to be the guy, then you’re going to be playing games. You can see his confidence already with the goals he’s scored and getting involved in play.
“It suits him at this moment in time. He can go away recharge do whatever, have some time off but come back raring to go and hopefully climb up that table. It’s been an exceptional start even though they went out of the cup, you think Manchester United and home and Brighton away, there two tough games and to get six points will build confidence.”

It’s been the perfect start for the 50-year-old and Villa, with there now being an extended break until the end of December for the World Cup.
Villa now sit in 12th position in the Premier League and for now, have quashed any growing fears of relegation after their poor start to the season.
