Unai Emery to ask Aston Villa board to sign two Real Madrid players – report

Unai Emery will ask the Aston Villa board to sign Eden Hazard and Nacho Fernandez from Real Madrid, according to El Nacional.

The Spaniard has gotten off to a flying start at Villa Park, winning both of his opening Premier League games before the World Cup break.

The report admits that Emery will have a “high budget” in the transfer window for the Villans, allowing him to go after stars like Hazard and Fernandez.

Hazard is the first Madrid player on Emery’s list, with the Spanish tactician keen to bring a new winger into the ranks of his team.

The second is Fernandez, who may be a more feasible option for Villa and a player whose contract is out in June 2023.

Class.

Being linked with top players from incredible UEFA Champions League-winning teams is always nice and goes to show the pulling power Emery may bring with him to Villa Park.

Fernandez seems more likely in this case, especially when you consider his ongoing contract squabbles at the Spanish club.

Villa needs to now be moulded in Emery’s image and the January transfer window will be the first glimpse Villans gets of the squad he is trying to create.

He’s already making a decent going of the options he has already so it will be interesting to see how far he can take a team with signings he makes himself.

One thing that is for sure is that Villa are looking so much better now and the brand of football Emery has introduced is exciting.

Hopefully, the club’s hierarchy backs him all the way in the next few transfer windows, if they do, the future is looking bright.
