Finance Expert: Aston Villa may secure new sponsor next season after Cazoo troubles
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa…
Dan Plumley has insisted that Aston Villa may look to secure a new sponsor for next season and beyond once their partnership with Cazoo expires in the summer.
The Finance Expert admitted there is a question mark surrounding the company, with Everton seeing their partnership brought to an end as financial struggles were revealed.
Plumley believes that the Villans will be looking for a deal worth between £5million and £10million to fill their pockets with as they may target a new opportunity.

“It’s a question mark for the next year for where Villa go after this one,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“If they do, there is nothing we can see even with those losses, it looks like a deal that is ok for now, there is no kind of issue that I can see in terms of Villa not getting that money for what’s in place.
“Looking longer term, we know that clubs are now signing shorter-term deals for these reasons. Cazoo, in particular, have cut back on some partnerships and pulled out of the Everton deal, it might be that Villa are looking at that and obviously being aware of the timeframe of the current deal expiring, they may be targeting new sponsors perhaps to work with moving forward, so given those factors, we may see a different sponsor for Villa next year maybe.
“Look at the numbers currently involved, they would want numbers on par with the current deal, or a little bit more so in the region of £5-10million per season.”

With Unai Emery now at the helm, there are exciting times ahead at Villa Park.
That may or may not help with sponsorships and bringing in better deals, with added exposure and more success on the pitch vital to securing the big-money partnerships.
Time will tell if that is the case here.
