Unai Emery dreams of silverware and European football at Aston Villa
Unai Emery says winning silverware for Aston Villa is at the top of his priority list alongside getting the club into European competitions.
The 51-year-old Spaniard will take the helm at Aston Villa on Sunday 6th November for the first time when the club face Manchester United.
Emery admitted that it’s his “dream” to win a trophy with Aston Villa alongside getting the team to replicate his years in European competition.

“My dream is to win a trophy with Aston Villa,” said Emery as quoted by BBC Sport.
“It’s my personal challenge at the beginning. My second dream, my objective will be to play in Europe.”

Music to the ears.
This is what every Aston Villa fan wants to hear from their new manager, his endless ambitions will only help the club move forward.
Hopefully, Emery can hit the ground running against Manchester United on Sunday and pick up a few good results before the World Cup break.
The fact he is already talking about trophies and European football is fantastic and bodes well for what might be coming at Villa Park soon.
The Spaniard’s track record in Europe is sublime and if he manages to take Villa there, they have every chance of competing in whatever competition they land in.
He led Sevilla to three straight Europa League titles between 2014 and 2016 and won the tournament again with Villarreal in 2021.
Premier League form has to be the priority for now however, Villans can’t be getting too carried away before their new manager has even begun his job.
In other Aston Villa news, former Steven Gerrard assistant Michael Beale has gone on record to rule out a return to Villa Park amid a previous managerial vacancy.
