Sky Sports pundit slams ‘Terrible’ Douglas Luiz moment in Aston Villa loss v Fulham

Leroy Rosenior has slammed Douglas Luiz for his antics in the Aston Villa loss against Fulham on Thursday night which ended up 3-0.

In what was a must win game for Steven Gerrard, the Brazilian let himself, his manager and the fans down by needlessly getting riled up by Aleksandr Mitrovic.

The host capitalised on this and went on to score another to comfortably see the game through.

Aston Villa

Speaking on the Premier League world feed (20/10, 8:50pm), Rosenior, a Sky Sports pundit, said, “That’s a terrible thing to. It’s not hurt him but that’s violent conduct. Right call and a foolish decision by the player.”

Poor

With the game on the knife’s edge, the last thing you want is for one of your players to get sent off.

Villa just seemed like they were getting back into the game before Luiz did something that was absolutely silly and cost his team a chance of getting back in the game.

This undoubtedly puts more pressure on the manager who now feels like has lost the battle to save his job in Birmingham.

While he is to be faulted for a number of things, the result against Fulham cannot entirely be blamed on him as it was his players that let him down.

Eventually, it’s Gerard who paid the price for it and he ended up being relieved of his duties in the aftermath of the 3-0 drubbing.

We would have been really surprised if he continued at the helm until the World Cup as things appeared to be done and dusted for a while and it was only subject to an official announcement.
