Chris Sutton predicts result of Aston Villa clash v Chelsea
Chris Sutton expects Aston Villa players to let nerves get the better of them when they face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Villans sit in 16th place in the table with just two wins from nine games so far this season, while Chelsea earned a dominant win over Serie A champions AC Milan in midweek in the Champions League.
And with the pressure on Steven Gerrard and rumours over his future flying around, Sutton told his BBC predictions column [13 October] that Graham Potter’s side will be a “nightmare” for Villa to play against and expects the blues to earn a 2-0 win.

“I think the feeling among Aston Villa fans is that the jury is out on Steven Gerrard at the moment,” he said.
“It’s as much to do with Villa’s style of play as their results – that’s becoming a problem but he is hardly likely to change and be expansive against Chelsea, because they will be a nightmare to play against.
“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is scoring goals and Graham Potter is showing how adaptable he is as a manager.
“Villa will be under pressure to win at home, and I can see the nerves getting the better of their players.”
Hard work
It’s hard work galore at Villa Park right now. Hard work on the training ground, hard work on the pitch, and hard work in the stands to watch the games.
Villa have been shocking so far this season in almost all the games they have played, and Gerrard has come under increasing pressure for his job in recent weeks.

Chelsea on the other hand have gone from strength to strength after surprisingly sacking Thomas Tuchel and bringing in Potter, and they look ready to make a real charge for the top of the table.
With the way form is right now it’s hard to see anything other than a Chelsea win, but we have got quality in our squad and while Chlesea are playing well football isn’t played on paper.
Gerrard can make calls and players can put in big performances that can turn our season on it’s head here, and it would be perfect for the boss to do that against a club he has big history with as a player.
