Confirmed: Aston Villa announce goalkeeper Oliwier Zych has signed a new contract
Aston Villa have announced that goalkeeper Oliwier Zych has signed a new contract with the club, after impressing the club’s hierarchy.
The Poland youth international joined the club in 2020 from his hometown club Zaglebie Lubin and has since progressed rapidly through the ranks.
Academy manager Mark Harrison gushed over Zych claiming they are “delighted” with the goalkeeper’s current progress.

“We are delighted to see Oliwier sign a new contract. This is a reflection of his development since he joined us,” said Harrison as quoted by AVFC.co.uk.
“He has recently been involved in the Under-21s, first-team training and captained Poland at Under-19 level. We look forward to seeing how he develops over the next few years.”
Top talent.
Zych looks to have the pedigree to make it to the grandest stage of them all, the English Premier League and his new contract will only enhance his chances of doing so.
The youngster has already represented Poland, at the youth level in the U15s, U16s and U19s level, highlighting how highly he’s thought of in his home country.
The 18-year-old was also part of Aston Villa’s squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2021, one of the most prestigious prizes in youth football.
He was also named in Steven Gerrard and Aston Villa’s first team tour of Australia over the summer, highlighting how highly the former Rangers manager thinks of him.
Being involved in first-team squads for pre-season tours usually indicates that the club wants to progress you to the next level of football if you are a youngster, this bodes well for Zych.
It will be interesting to see how the Pole’s career pans out, for now, it seems his future will be at Villa.
