Aston Villa ace Matty Cash now in contention to play against former side – report
Aston Villa could be boosted by the return of right-back Matty Cash for the trip to Nottingham Forest, according to the Express and Star.
The Polish international has missed the last two games for the Villans after being forced off through injury at home to Manchester City at the beginning of September.
His return comes at a useful time for Steven Gerrard after Ludwig Augustinsson hobbled off through injury against Leeds United on Sunday and Lucas Digne already out with an injury of his own.

Ashley Young has been covering at right-back but is expected to switch to the left side of the defence at the City Ground, a place Cash knows very well.
The 25-year-old signed for Aston Villa from the Reds in 2020 for £16million having only just been converted from a central midfielder to a full-back and he has only gone forwards since then.
Domination
Nottingham Forest are massively up against it in the Premier League right now having just been battered 4-0 by local rivals and previously winless Leicester City on Monday night.
Steve Cooper’s job is under huge scrutiny as a result and Villa could be the side that makes him lose his job for good with a dominant win in their own backyard.

Cash will have his own vendetta and desire to go back to his old stomping ground and show them how much he has usurped them in the time that has passed since.
He has gone from someone with no hopes of international football to a regular for Poland and he is likely to play a part in their World Cup campaign in November.
Gerrard has to set his side up to attack wave after wave at the City Ground with the increasingly fragile Forest likely to struggle when they are pushed back towards their own goal.
In other Aston Villa news, the 0-0 draw with Leeds had more takeaways than first realised and there will be one outlying problem that Gerrard should be concerned about.
