Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins hungry to score goals again
Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins is confident he’ll get on the scoresheet again after a lacklustre start to the Premier League campaign.
Watkins finished the last two seasons as Villa’s top scorer and earned himself call-ups to the England national team, nevertheless, his form has slipped.
The forward confessed that he needs to be more “selfish” in front of goal and this may be one of the reasons why he hasn’t been scoring as much.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Watkins admitted that he thinks his performances have been good this season but he needs to find the back of the net again.
“I feel like I have been playing well. The No.1 thing is I always work hard,” said Watkins.
“Maybe I need to be a little more selfish and shoot. I like to think I am a team player. It will come. I will score some goals and go from there. I just need to be patient.”

Needed.
Steven Gerrard and Aston Villa are missing their goalscorer and they need Watkins goals back in their hit-and-miss squad this season.
The Villans have been struggling to find the back of the net this campaign and that is largely down to Watkins’ misfiring form.
Gerrard’s side have only found managed to score six times; a frustrating stat that all but highlights where things have been going wrong for his side.
Hopefully, this is just a blip in form for Watkins and the 26-year-old can find his form once again, but he needs to do so quickly.
With Watkins out of form and Danny Ings also not looking sharp, it will be slim pickings for Villa if neither forward can reignite their season.
On a positive note, it’s good to see that Watkins is holding his head high, there’s nothing worse than a striker with confidence problems when you need goals.
