Keinan Davis confident of promotion to seal Aston Villa permanent exit

Keinan Davis is confident that Watford will achieve promotion to the Premier League this season which will help him secure a permanent exit from Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old joined Watford on loan in the summer window. The Hornets are committed to buy Davis from Aston Villa for £15m.

Watford are currently 10th in the Championship table, but Davis is confident that they will turn it around.

“We can achieve promotion, easily. It’s not been the best of starts, but we’ve played some tough teams and still managed to pick up points despite the performances not being there,” said Davis, as quoted by Watford Observer.

“The new arrivals like me are now settling in, and we have players like Tom (Cleverley) and Imran (Louza) who will play a massive part when they come back from injury.

“If we stick together then, yeah, we’ll achieve promotion.”

No future?

Davis emerged from the club’s academy and has made over 85 appearances for the senior side, scoring seven goals.

He has previously spent a spell on loan at Nottingham Forest, and he is back again in the Championship with Watford.

Villa have depth in their attacking department and it doesn’t like Steven Gerrard is a big fan of Davis either.

Aston Villa

Davis has a contract at Villa Park until 2024, and even if Watford fail to sign him permanently, Villa are likely to offload him in the summer elsewhere.

It gives the impression that Davis desperately wants this move as well. He is confident that the Hornets will secure a promotion and as a result, they will use the clause in the deal to sign him.

He has had a slow start to his career at Watford. He was not match-fit but the club was very cautious with him. But he now has a goal to his name.

In other Aston Villa news, there was another Villan who was back to his very best against the Saints and Gerrard needs it to carry on.
