Aston Villa stadium Villa Park is reportedly among the contenders to be the official venues of the European Championships in 2028.

According to The Times, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland are looking to be joint hosts and a list of stadiums are already being considered.

Among those, the favourites are Wembley, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Villa Park, Old Trafford, Bramley Moore Dock and St James’ Park.

Good news

It’s always nice to see your home stadium being the official venue for a major tournament.

Given how things are going, England are definitely expected to be one of the favourites for the 2028 tournament.

Villa has had some really good English players in the past and currently as well and we’re expecting at least one or two to be there in the squad six years down the line.

Given how committed the owners are to take the club to the next level, we’re certain to see some changes being made to the stadium by the time the tournament begins in the summer of 2028.

This would mean a new look to Villa Park and maybe some modern arches to give it the look and feel of a 21st century stadium

Official decisions will be made once the bid has been won, but should that go ahead, we’re pretty certain to see the home of Aston Villa being one of the venues in the tournament.
