Jesse Marsch to serve touchline suspension as Aston Villa travel to take on Leeds – The Athletic

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch will miss the Premier League clash against Aston Villa, according to The Athletic on Thursday.

The American will serve a one-match touchline suspension after being charged by the FA for his outrage on the touchline in their last outing against Brentford.

The online outlet has reported that Marsch has also been fined £10,000 as complaints regarding VAR continue to spread around the Premier League.

Aston Villa

Everyone at Villa Park will understand this one.

It was only the 1-1 draw against Manchester City when the Villans were struck by poor officiating as Philippe Coutinho saw a wonder strike wrongly disallowed.

The technology is taking centre-stage every single week, and hopefully, the football can do the talking at Elland Road, even if the Southampton clash is up first tomorrow.

Aston Villa

Issues.

Steven Gerrard would surely prefer his opposite number to always be alongside him on the touchline.

The Premier League is quickly becoming a laughing stock with their officials and not to mention the technology, and most of the time, all managers will back each other in this argument.

Villa have been hit by the back stick too many times, and soon something may have to be done about it all before it goes too far down the rabbit hole.

Going to Leeds and Elland Road, as well as the reverse fixture have quickly become some of the biggest fixtures of our season, with the rivalry spiralling since the Championship days together.

No matter what is happening on the touchline, this is certainly one to relish and look forward to within the group as we have to put up with the latest international break.

Hopefully, Marsch sitting in the stands can lead to another vital three points as the Lions look to really kickstart their season after what has been a lacklustre start, to say the least.

In other Aston Villa news, this breakout star of the season so far has to be the first name on Gerrard’s teamsheet against the Saints.
