Exclusive: Ty Bracey excited by Aston Villa stadium development plans
We’re delighted to welcome Villa View host Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Ty Bracey is delighted to see the plans for redevelopment at Villa Park that Aston Villa have announced and wants the team to match the ambition with performances on the pitch.
The club have submitted plans to demolish the North Stand and rebuild it with greater capacity, taking the total for the stadium over 50,000, as well as turning the venue into a destination for more than just the 90 minutes on match day.
Bracey is excited by the plans and what it will mean for his personal experience as a fan, and pleased to see the owners are committed to improving the club in the right ways, but would like the quality of the games themselves to match up amid an early-season struggle.

He exclusively told Villa News: “Absolutely [I’m excited]. I think the North Stand, we know it’s needed some work for a while now, and I love those plans. And I love that the owners are investing in the facilities at Villa Park.
“They’re creating a Box Park-type venue like at Wembley. I would love if we were having a three o’clock kick-off on a Saturday, to go there and have some food and watch the early kick-off.
“The half past 12 kick-off on a Saturday, go and watch that with my mates before the Villa one. I’d love to do that. I’d love to implement that into my day.
“I think they’re investing heavily in the right things, and I really like how the stadium looks and what they are planning to build around it.
“I think it’s a really exciting time in terms of the facility side of things, we’ve just got to start getting those results to match the ambitions of the owners now.”

Villa Park is one of the more impressive stadiums in the Premier League considering its age and the last time there was any major work done.
Increasing the capacity and improving the entire experience for fans visiting at the weekend will pay off in the long run with greater revenue, which should in turn be re-invested in the squad.
With recent transfers also made with a view to the top half of the Premier League this is another positive step, but as the difficulties for Steven Gerrard and the players currently show it is not quite as straight forward in practice as it is on paper.
In other Aston Villa news, Anwar El Ghazi will leave the club for PSV the club have confirmed.
