Aston Villa resurrect Ismaila Sarr pursuit on deadline day – report
Aston Villa have resurrected their pursuit of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr after previously failing, according to the Daily Mail.
The Villans had a fee worth £25million agreed with the Hornets to sign the Senegal international and he was at Bodymoor for a medical but the Premier League outfit pulled the plug after failing to agree on personal terms.
The move was thought to be over for Villa and Steven Gerrard but the Daily Mail have today suggested that they are going to give it one last go before the 11pm transfer deadline.

The 24-year-old has also been on the radar of Crystal Palace but the Eagles are not likely to make a move unless they sell Wilfried Zaha with the sands of the hourglass falling.
Sarr, who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, has played the majority of games for Rob Edwards’ side this season and scored a stunning goal from the halfway line against West Brom.
Electric
Aston Villa are seriously lacking some pace in attack having sold Bertrand Traore, Trezeguet and Anwar El Ghazi already this summer.
Those three wingers offered Gerrard a different angle of attack to call upon if plan A wasn’t working but he has removed that option now and the club’s poor start to the season has amplified that problem.

He now has to go about restoring the lightning-quick wingers to his squad so he can change his ideology and style of play to start picking up results in the Premier League.
Failure to sign anybody today might be a deal-breaking moment for either the board or the manager because there is little excitement to suggest that a big win is around the corner.
Sarr’s electric pace should see him walk into the Villa side if he signs before 11pm and Gerrard can finally look to score goals in more ways than just one.
In other Aston Villa news, Alan Hutton knows where he thinks his former side need to improve today and it is not where one might expect.
