Aston Villa confirm Anwar El Ghazi move to PSV Eindhoven
Aston Villa have confirmed that 27-year-old forward Anwar El Ghazi has joined PSV Eindhoven on a permanent deal on their official Twitter page.
The Dutch forward had fallen down the pecking order at the club and was not seen to be in Steven Gerrard’s plans for the future.
However, he has now completed a move to PSV and will return to the league where he first made his name in the Eredivisie.
El Ghazi Departs.
The departure of a player like El Ghazi represents the change that Steven Gerrard is trying to force through at Villa Park.
The 27-year-old was a prominent figure under the previous regime, regularly starting for the team and being one of the attacking focal points.
Under Dean Smith, the Dutch winger was an important first-team player who Smith relied on to make things happen and cause problems for the opposition.

In the 20/21 season, the versatile forward played a huge role in helping the club avoid relegation by scoring 10 Premier League goals.
However, under Gerrard, his role has been reduced to less than a bit-part player and he was shipped out on loan to Everton at the end of last season, a loan that was anything but a success.
Like Tyrone Mings, Gerrard seems focused on having a squad of players he trusts and has faith in and anyone that he does not seems free to leave the club.
Hopefully for El Ghazi, he can recapture form back in the Eredivisie and impress back in the league he last played in seven years ago.
In other Aston Villa news, Atletico Madrid are set to bid for Douglas Luiz.
