Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard reaffirms belief in his team
Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has “total belief and confidence” in his team ahead of a tough away match against Arsenal.
The Villans have had a terrible start to the season, winning a single game and are going to the Emirates off the back of a home defeat against West Ham.
However, the Villa boss has claimed that despite the negativity surrounding the club he still has faith that him and his team can turn it around.

He said, as quoted by the Mirror: “I’ve got total belief and confidence in these players.
“We’ve shown it before that after a difficult patch we can come through it.
“I’ve been faced with challenges and pressure and I will take that on my shoulders.”
Can Villa turn it around?
The quotes from Gerrard are positive ones that hopefully should encourage Villa fans who will be worried about their club’s situation.
As a player and a manager, Gerrard has gone through tough situations and has to get through them on countless occasions.
His character and resolved and been tested several times throughout his career and this situation is no different to the tough tests he has faced in the past.
While at the helm at Rangers, he took a struggling side and transformed that into a team that won domestic trophies, a league title while also competing on the European front.
The former Liverpool midfielder, who is entering his toughest period in his career as a manager, will need his players to dig deep and find their identity again as quickly as possible.
With tough games against league-topping Arsenal and reigning champions Manchester City awaiting the Villans, it will not get any easier from here on out.
In other Aston Villa news, Paul Merson has claimed that cup finals are awaiting the club.
