Abdou Diallo wants to leave PSG amid strong interest from Aston Villa

Aston Villa are still interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Abdou Diallo who is desperate to leave the club this summer.

According to a report from Le Parisien (24 August), the Senegalese defender wants to leave before the end of the window due to a lack of playing time.

Villa want to bolster their defence following the injury to Diego Carlos who only joined the club this summer from Sevilla.

The Villans are looking to bring Diallo to Villa Park for around €10million (£8.4m). As of now, talks have not begun with the two clubs, but the player is open to joining Villa Park.

Likely

It looks that the offer should be enough to sign the vastly experienced centre-back.

The 26-year-old is currently training with the first team, but he is deemed surplus to requirements at the club.

He has made 75 appearances in all competitions in the past three seasons. But he struggled for game time last season, and an exit from Parc des Princes looks likely.

PSG will probably allow leave to move elsewhere. At Villa, Diallo has a better chance to play regularly, which will boost his chances for the Qatar World Cup to be held this winter for Senegal.

Villa have made a very poor start to the season, and Steven Gerrard needs to fix the ongoing problems.

Could Diallo be the answer? He joined PSG from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around £27m, but the move didn’t work out for him. Villa are ready to provide him with an escape route.
