Aston Villa agree deal with Watford to sign Ismaila Sarr for £25m+ – Sky Sports

Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a deal with Championship side Watford to sign their star attacker Ismaila Sarr.

According to Sky Sports, the Villans will be paying a fee in the region of £25million to sign the 24-year-old.

It’s understood that the amount is an initial fee and there are add-ons included that will take the valuation even higher.

Much needed

Aston Villa have started the season woefully and they desperately need something to change the mood at Villa Park.

Steven Gerrard knows that he’s got a tremendous task on his hands to get his side back to winning ways.

Sarr adds versatility to this front line and also gives Gerrard the option to play a number of systems.

Against Crystal Palace, the main criticism was that there weren’t any good wide forwards who can stretch the play and in Sarr, they will be getting that player.

This is a shrewd acquisition by Villa and Gerrard must now bring the best out of him or he could soon be fighting a battle for his future.

The club also need to bring in a defender as soon as possible after Diego Carlos’ long-term injury absence.

Gerrard must also have double sessions with some of the players because this team clearly does not look ready for the new season.

In other Aston Villa news, manager Steven Gerrard is very keen to bring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to the club.
