Alan Hutton: Kortney Hause not part of Aston Villa plans under Steven Gerrard
We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Villa Park…
Alan Hutton believes that Kortney Hause should leave Aston Villa this summer with the 27-year-old not part of Steven Gerrard’s future plans.
The Athletic reported that the club are still set to allow Hause to leave Villa Park despite Diego Carlos’ season-ending injury.
However, Hutton believes it’s the right decision to let the defender exit despite the Brazilian’s absence.

“I think for him [Hause] it’s a good decision because he’s fallen down the pecking order and he needs to play football,” Hutton told Villa News.
“He doesn’t seem to be in Steven Gerrard’s plans even though he has been injured.
“I think the key in this situation is whether Gerrard can bring somebody into the club.
“He’s got the likes of Chambers still sitting there along with Kortney and Tyrone (Mings).
“If he can bring someone in then he should let Kortney leave Villa Park because I don’t see him being part of Villa’s future plans under Gerrard.”
Sky Sports reported (15 August) that Carlos is set for six months on the sidelines and that could lead Gerrard to add another central defender to his squad.

The Guardian claimed (15 August) that Villa are expected to re-enter the market for a defender to replace the Brazilian.
It remains to be seen whether the club hierarchy will match the big money move they made for Carlos in the summer as they search for a replacement.
In other Aston Villa news, Diego Carlos has posted an emotional message on social media after his serious injury.
