Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos sends heartfelt message after injury setback
Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos has sent a heartfelt message after his recent injury setback which will see him miss several months.
He ruptured his Achilles tendon and this will see him missing the majority of the 2022-23 season.
Carlos started the 2-1 win against Everton on Saturday but had to be taken off in the middle of the game due to an injury.

Birmingham Live translated his Instagram story as, “An immense joy to debut with victory in our stadium taking the 3 points. Fantastic stadium full of fans to support us. You can be sure it was the first of many victories.
“May the limit of my dreams be faith. May discouragement be overcome by willpower.
“May the good that lives in me be stronger than the evil of those around me. May my focus be happiness.
“I don’t lack reasons to be grateful. And may I have the patience to wait for the great things that God has prepared for me.”
Warrior
Carlos had an incredible pre season with Villa and looked like he was going to kick on when the games that matter began.
However, nobody would have predicted this kind of setback and we’re totally devastated for him as he was one of the vice captains this term.
His influence will still be vital and we’ll certainly be seeing him at the club as and when his rehab permits to cheer the club on.
We will not be surprised if sources claim that he regularly visits the dressing room before games as he’s clearly one that inspires the youngsters.
Steven Gerrard will now be put into a major dilemma and will need to see if he can bring in a centre-back to the club.
Tyrone Mings appears set to stay but their relationship is fractious, to say the least.
In other Aston Villa news, manager Steven Gerrard is very keen to bring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to the club.
