Carney Chukwuemeka unlikely to leave Aston Villa until late August – report
Carney Chukwuemeka is unlikely to leave Aston Villa until later in the transfer window despite interest from AC Milan, according to a report by Birmingham Mail.
The highly rated young attacking midfielder is set to leave Villa Park after rejecting a new contract at the club, and is now entering the final year of his current deal.
The club are said to have put a £22m price tag on his head to sell him this summer since they are aware he doesn’t want to renew, and several top European clubs are showing an interest.

But according to a report [August 1], a deal isn’t expected to take place until late in August while the player’s representatives remain in contact with all the interested parties.
Should Chukwuemeka not leave the club this summer and then leave on a free transfer, Villa would only be entitled to around £400,000 in compensation due to the player’s age.
Shame
It seems as this one is going to turn ugly later in the window and it’s a real shame due to the talent this player has and the opportunities he has in front of him.
Steven Gerrard has brought him into the first-team fold and given him a small sample of chances, and has shown his willingness to use youth with Jacob Ramsey’s increased importance and the decision he has made over Cameron Archer too.

But Chukwuemeka has clearly had his head turned by offers or talks from elsewhere and there is seemingly no way back for him at Villa Park.
Villa have decided to play hard ball with their price in order to keep him around, but it makes little sense if the player is so adamant on an exit. They’d be better set with a realistic price and to let him leave.
There’s no need to replace him in the squad because he’s had minimal impact so far, but it’ll be a blow to the club to lose such a great talent at all.
